3 Things to Look for in a CBD Oil

November 04, 2020

Hemp extract has become more popular than ever. So, what should you look for before buying CBD oil?

Various products are available on the market. So, what should you focus on? First, look at the extract quality of the ingredients.

#1 Hemp can absorb a wide variety of compounds from the soil including contaminants and toxins, so ensure it is grown in clean soil and lab tested

Whilst growing, hemp plants absorb water and nutrients necessary to survive. The roots also readily absorb contaminants from the soil around them. This is the reason why organic soil, clean water, and ethical farming are so important to achieve the best quality products.

At Hoil, we understand that clean soil means clean and safe oil. The land on which our hemp grows is one of the cleanest in Europe, ensuring the highest purity of oil. But don't take our word for it - our oils are tested by an independent laboratory. The results show high oil purity plus an abundance of cannabinoids and terpenes.

#2 Ensure it is full-spectrum for maximum effect

CBD oil can be prepared in many ways. The isolate, which is cheaper to produce than full-spectrum oil, contains only CBD and carrier oil. Nature, however, allows cannabis to produce hundreds of different substances, cannabinoids and terpenes, each of which have their own physiological effects.

Complete (full-spectrum) oil contains a comprehensive mix of naturally occurring cannabinoids and terpenes which, when combined with a large amount of CBD, creates a synergistic effect up to 4 times better than separated CBD.

#3 When choosing CBD pay attention to the type of product and select the right one for your needs.

Oils based on MCT oil taken under the tongue increase CBD absorption, due to the nature of these fatty acids. The sublingual gland absorbs CBD directly into the bloodstream which helps it to work faster and more effectively.

Conversely, CBD capsules and gummy bears need to pass through the metabolic and digestive systems, losing their potency along the way and reducing the amount of CBD absorbed into the bloodstream. However, topical products work best for localised pain, muscles aches or joint pain.
