CBD and Sleep - Is CBD a Safe and Effective Sleep Aid?

Can CBD Influence the Quality of Sleep?

 

The good news is that it could be possible for CBD to enhance the quality of sleep by helping people to fall asleep quicker and helping them to fall into a deeper, more restful sleep.

 

It is also being explored to determine whether CBD can move the body from REM sleep and into a deeper REM sleep, proving that it could be a useful tool for anyone looking to improve their sleep quality.

 

Studies have been completed that have found the CBD can help people with certain sleep disorders. For those who suffer from Parkinson's Disease, they experienced an improvement in symptoms that relate to REM sleep behaviour disorder after using CBD. Studies have also identified that anxiety and sleep disturbances linked to PTSD could also be improved with CBD use.

 

Can it Treat Insomnia?

 

Research is also being carried out on the impact of CBD on insomnia and it is believed that the impact could be dose-dependent. Therefore, it could be a case where higher doses of CBD could have a sedative effect.

 

One study has found that those people who suffer from insomnia might benefit from a daily dose of 160mg as this could increase the total amount of time that they sleep while decreasing the number of hours they are awake.
